Background

The Barbara Davis Center for Children and Adult Diabetes is part of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical center and is supported by the Children's Diabetes Foundation. This center was important to Sue in helping her navigate this disease when she was diagnosed with it in 2015. The center provides state-of the-art care to children and adults with type 1 diabetes and teaches patients how to prevent or delay complications. Their research is devoted to finding prevention, cure, and most effective treatment of diabetes and associated disorders.

***********

The American Diabetes Association has a similar mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes by funding research and providing services across the U.S.
