It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Martha Lee on April 12, 2023. Born in 1941 in China, Martha had a life filled with love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She was married to Hon S. Lee for over 40 years who passed peacefully in 2012. She rejoins him now in heaven. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Linda , Son in Law Michael, Grandchildren Matthew & Ashley, Sisters, Brothers, &  extended family, who survive her and will cherish her memory.

Martha was a woman of kindness and generosity. Throughout her life, she touched the lives of those around her with a kindness and selfless spirit. One of the most important lessons she imparted to those she encountered was to be generous, donating to worthy organizations, including her university Charminade, where she was a President's Circle Donor and was honored with invitations by the President to lunch, as well as, donating annually for many years to Long Beach Friends Church. In particular, Martha emphasized the importance of visiting and honoring one's ancestors with a large family trip to China with several extended families to pay respects to their ancestors. She generously funded much of the trip to ensure the most family could attend and pay respects to her grandparent's memory and legacy. She loved to eat, having certain Chinese restaurants that she preferred and was known as a regular. The manager at one of her favorite dim sum places knew her by name and would come to say "hello" each time he saw us and gave us complimentary desserts from the dim sum selection on occasion. It was nice going to lunch with Mom and many of our friends and family were able to enjoy meals with us. She insisted on almost always footing the bill and arguing with her about it was against your better health...:) She will be dearly missed.
