Martha's obituary

Martha Benavides Hernandez Gonzales born on October 26, 1944 to Felipe and Guadalupe Benavides Hernandez in Luling, Texas and peacefully passed at her residence on January 27, 2023 surrounded by all those that loved her.

When she was just 22, Martha met Gonzalo T. Gonzales -- the love of her life. She married Gonzalo T. Gonzales on August 14th, 1968. In unity they gave birth to two children Belinda A. Gonzales and Gonzalo T. Gonzales, II.

She was a proud military wife, a loving hostess, passionate cook, and seasoned traveler. She previously resided in Germany, Michigan, and Washington before returning to Texas. She was a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother until the very end; she will be greatly missed.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Simon Hernandez, son Robert Hernandez, and great-granddaughter Kynsleigh Ingram.

She is remembered and deeply missed by her half sister, Yolanda Hernandez (Lockhart, Texas), daughter Belinda Gonzales and son in law Rudy Gonzales (Fentress, Texas) and son Gonzalo T. Gonzales II (Prairie Lea, Texas); Grandchildren: Kimberley Hernandez (Luling, TX), Krystan Ingram and husband Clifford Ingram (Luling, TX), Robert Hernandez II (Lampasas, TX), Jeremy Gonzales and wife Samantha Gonzales (Carrolton, TX), Kerri-Ann Hernandez (Luling, TX), Gonzalo “Trey” Gonzales III (Carlsbad, NM), Steven Gonzales (Irving, TX), Matthew Gonzales Kircus and husband Johnathan Gonzales Kircus (Buda, TX), and Mia Gonzales (Bastrop, TX), as well as 11 beautiful great-grandchildren.
