Martha Ellen White Durham, 85, of Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Cherokee Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Reverend Marvin Eugene Durham, Sr. and daughter of the late Jospeh Ernest White and Effie Mae Pace Whithe was a graduate of Gaffney High School and a homemaker. Martha and her late husband Marvin were the founders of Tabernacle of Love in Chesnee. She loved her family, singing and playing guitar, animals, gardening, crafts and decorating.

She is survived by three sons, Guy Durham of Gaffney, Billy Smith and Michael Durham (Debbie), both of Chesnee, S.C; two daughters, Kristie Suddeth and Melissa Taylor, both of Chesnee; two brothers, Joe White (Etula) and Tommy White, both of Gaffney; four sisters, Barbara Golden, Shirley Ellis, Betty Smith and Sandra Allison, all of Gaffney; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tabitha Taylor, three sons, Marvin Eugene Durham, Jr., Johnny Smith and Ken Durham (stepson) , and a brother, James "Hambone" White.
