Martha was born on June 13, 1950 to Elbert Bivins II and Lilla (Burt) Bivins in Jackson, Mississippi at Baptist Hospital. Martha lived with her family originally in the Leavell Woods Area and later on Euclid Avenue in the Belhaven Area.
