Martha Eugenia Anderson Soto Urbiola was surrounded by family near and far physically and virtually as she was ushered into eternal rest and glory in the hospital from complications from Covid-19 and severe pneumonia on January 12, 2022.

How does one even start to accurately reflect the legacy that Martha left us?

Gone all too soon, but truly, forever in our hearts.

She ran her race and finished well. She lived a life of love and grace. Every person that knew her was witness to the love of Jesus Christ in her. She lived a servant’s life and modeled a servant’s heart. She loved on people with hugs, smiles, and thoughtful generosity, often the product of her great charity, awesome creativity, and great talent with organization, decorations, and crafts unlike anyone else I’ve ever known. She called them and kept in touch with those close to her, near and far. She fed into their lives. She pointed them all to Jesus.

She made the meals, drove the miles, opened her life and heart, gave of herself and her time in so many thoughtful and generous ways every opportunity to help someone in need.

A dog lover through and through and enthusiastic practitioner of paying it forward. She'd often pay the coffee for the person behind her in line while getting her morning coffee at 7-Eleven and at times at the drive-thru.

She laughed and cried and supported and encouraged and prayed for all of us. She truly loved the way Christ loves.

And for some, she was the closest example of Christ’s unconditional love for us all.

A woman of great love, courage, and great persistent strength. Drawing from childhood and early adulthood experiences in overcoming the at times debilitating physical condition of epilepsy, and for years being a single mom, to use these as stepping stones and means through which to become an overcomer in life, teaching others to do the same.

Beloved step Grandma, “Abuela” to seven awesome, beautiful kids

Best Auntie (too many to count) ever, and in the past few years, great-auntie to five precious jewels

And a beautiful friend to every friend and stranger.

Martha, you ran the race set out before you. You are now resting in the arms of our loving Father….

You finished well.

Martha Eugenia Anderson Soto Urbiola estuvo rodeada de familiares cercanos y lejanos física y virtualmente mientras fue llevada al descanso eterno y la gloria en el hospital debido a complicaciones de Covid-19 y neumonía severa el 12 de Enero de 2022.

¿Cómo se empieza a reflejar con precisión el legado que Martha nos dejó?

Se fue demasiado pronto, pero verdaderamente, vivira por siempre en nuestros corazones.

Corrió su carrera y terminó muy bien. Vivió una vida llena de amor y gracia.

Cada persona que la conoció fue testigo del amor de Jesucristo en ella. Vivió la vida de una sierva y modeló un corazón de sierva. Amaba a las personas con abrazos, sonrisas y generosidad reflexiva, a menudo producto de su gran caridad, su asombrosa creatividad y su gran talento con la organización, decoraciones y las manualidades como nadie que haya conocido.

Ella siempre se mantuvo en contacto con los que estaban cerca de ella, cerca y lejos.

Ella alimentó sus vidas. Ella les señaló a todos a Jesús.

Hizo las comidas, condujo las millas, abrió su vida y su corazón, se entregó a sí misma y dio de su tiempo de muchas maneras consideradas y generosas en todas las oportunidades para ayudar a alguien que lo necesitaba.

Una amante de los perros hasta la médula y practicante entusiasta de la ideología de devolver el favor en una cadena de favores.

A menudo pagaba el café de la persona que estaba detrás de ella en la fila al comprar su café matutino en Super 7 y, a veces, en el autoservicio de comida rapida.

Ella rió, lloró, apoyó, alentó y oró por todos nosotros.

Ella amaba verdaderamente como Cristo ama.

Y para algunos, ella fue el ejemplo más cercano del amor incondicional de Cristo por todos nosotros.

Una mujer de gran amor, coraje y gran fuerza persistente. Apoyándose sobre las experiencias de su niñez y la edad adulta temprana para superar la condición física a veces debilitante de la epilepsia, y ser madre soltera durante años, para usarlas como peldaños y medios a través de los cuales convertirse en una vencedora en la vida, enseñando a otros a hacer lo mismo.

Marta, corriste la carrera que se te presentó. Ahora descansas en los brazos de nuestro amoroso Padre….
