Marshall Gene Nabors, 62, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on January 16, 2022.  He is survived by his sister,  Lanette Boggess,  and his two brothers,  Raymond and Stanley Nabors.    Marshall is also survived by his eight children,  Erin Garwood, Heidi Porter, Clayton Nabors, Sadie Skrove, Ivan Nabors, Lawrence Nabors, Phoebe Elkins, and Leila Slaubaugh,  and several grandchildren.  

Marshall was born in Louisiana to Elmer and Martha Nabors.  He grew up in Hampton VA.  Though he was always a loner, he is remembered for his goofy sense of humor and high intelligence.   

He held many jobs over the years,  starting as a ship board electrician at Newport News Ship Yard in VA.   He became a self taught computer programmer, a skill which kept him busy for several years.   His most recent employ,  and the job he loved best,  was as a semi truck driver.   

After surviving several strokes over the last 10 years,  and a variety of other health issues,  Marshall was being well cared for by the staff at Westside Village Nursing Home in Indianapolis, where he quietly passed away.  

There will be a Memorial Service held on Monday, January 31 at Open Door Baptist Church in Speedway.   Time to be determined.
