In lieu of flowers

Please consider a contribution to African American Diabetes Association.

Background

Black adults are significantly more likely to have diabetes than the general U.S. population. In 2024, Black adults were 24% more likely to have diagnosed diabetes than U.S. adults overall.

Black Americans die from diabetes at much higher rates. In 2022, diabetes mortality among Black adults was 78% higher than the U.S. population overall.

Black communities often face: Lower rates of health insurance, Delayed diagnosis, Reduced access to diabetes education and preventive care
Lower likelihood of receiving newer, more effective diabetes medications

These barriers worsen long‑term outcomes.

A donation could provide access to much-needed resources in underserved communities.
