Marsha's obituary

Marsha Gleason entered into God’s Kingdom on October 15, 2022 after a long battle with cancer.

Marsha was born to John Roland & Martha Mabel Dobbs on September 14, 1958 in Arcadia, California. She graduated Alvin High School in 1976 and earned her associates degree at Alvin Community College. She served as a police officer for twelve years in Brazoria and Galveston Counties. She and her daughter Kelsi moved to Belton, TX where she passionately volunteered and worked with the Special Needs Network of Central Texas. She eventually moved to Washington State to be with her daughter's family where she worked in early childhood and aging memory care for Martha & Mary. Marsha was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ with others. She faithfully fought multiple cancer diagnosis for more than 40 years. She was optimistic and proud of the battles she endured because they strengthened her faith and enabled her to help and encourage others. She loved music and dancing. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, especially to the beach. She was incredibly creative and had a "I will if I want to!" attitude.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:2-4

Marsha humbly committed her last 16 years to The Program and was forever changed. To God be the Glory.

"If you knew me then and you know me now, you will know there is a God." - Marsha Gleason

Her living legacy will include her selfless desire to participate in the learning and research through UTSW Willed Body Program.

Marsha is preceded in death by her father, John Roland Dobbs, mother, Martha Mabel Gleason, step-father William Barrett Gleason, siblings Rocky Roland and Sara Suzanne Dobbs. She is survived by many loving family members, including her daughter, Kelsi Bradley, son-in-law Kevin, her adored grandchildren Ranger and Macey, sisters Riki Rouse, Karen Lumen, Cindy Brady, Carol Hayward, nieces and nephews Jashua, Jacob, Sarah, Briauna, Ryan, Shane and Justin.

Marsha died at home holding the hands of two of her greatest loves. May she rest whole, healthy and at home in the arms of Jesus.

An open house gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 2-6 PM October 29th at her family's home in Aledo, TX.

"I, Marsha Gleason being of half a mind and enough body do hereby bequeath a short message to my younger sisters, don't ever give up, because it's worth it in the end." Marsha Gleason 1976 Senior Yearbook Quote.
