Marlene was an assistant to my late husband Bob Green in the Pentagon. He had a reminder on his calendar of her birthday and always sent a card or a text message. Marlene always remembered Bob’s birthday also and had a friend who made cards that were works of art. I still have many of the cards she sent for BD, Christmas, Easter, and other occasions. They remind me of the deep friendship they had while working together and for many years after. Happy Birrhday, Marlene!

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I fondly remember the summer she stayed with us in Wheeling! She was the older cousin and she walked with us to our favorite park. I remember her ditching our little brother’s stroller in the trees so she wouldn’t have to walk it across the golf course! RIP Marlene.

Marlene was a long-time assistant to my late husband, Bob Green, in the Navy Comptroller’s office. Bob had such tremendous respect for Marlene and greatly appreciated her dedication and support over the years. She was a true public servant who sought to fulfill her duties with great respect to the many uniformed and civilian employees she served. Marlene stayed in frequent contact with Bob over their retirement years, something that I know meant a lot to him. Our country will miss her. Rest in peace.

Aunt Marlene, you will be remembered as someone who did her best to be of service to others. Growing up I have many fond memories of outings and relationships with your many friends. You were so proud of us! And tried to give us new, different experiences. We will cherish those times. Later in life, you were so in love with your first grand-niece, Layla, and loved on her so much. Always thinking about her - dropping by for a visit or bringing her a surprise. You had so much love and care for all the grand nieces and nephews. You will be missed. I will miss our talks - you were a good listener and not hesitant to share your true thoughts and feelings, and I appreciated that - We will miss you deeply. Love, Nancy, Vanja, Fitneta, Layla, Julia & James
