Marla Vaverka, 69, was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 16, 1954 to Harvey Edward and Leona Ruth Marten Krause and died Sunday September 22, 2024 at her home east of Hennessey.

Marla attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1973 where she was a member of Enid High School Symphony. Following graduation, she attended Phillips University where she was a member of the symphony as well.

She married Larry Vaverka in Enid on November 16, 1995. Marla was a payroll accountant.

She is survived by her husband Larry of the home; two sons Matthew Robertson and wife Lisa of Enid, Michael Vaverka and wife Katha of Hennessey; two daughters Lori Bode and husband Shane of Oklahoma City, Liz Patton and husband Kyle of Enid; ten grandchildren Calvin Robertson and wife Abigail, Haley Brown and husband Tylor, Marissa Vaverka, Madison Vaverka, Kaullins Vaverka, Kacee Bode, Teagan Patton, Ayden Patton; two sisters Jana McAlister and husband David of Nash, Debra Kretzschmar and husband Ken of Wichita, and several nieces and nephews.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Leona Krause, and in-laws Rudolf and Helen Vaverka.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Dyslexia Foundation with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund. 

Memorial services will be held at a later date with arrangements by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
