Marla's obituary

In 1974 our loved , Marla Jean Thomas, went missing. From that moment on, time kept moving, but our questions never stopped. Birthdays passed, holidays came and went, and every year carried the same quiet ache of not knowing.

Marla was deeply loved and never forgotten. Her absence shaped our family in ways words cannot fully capture. We carried her with us in our hearts, even when we didn’t know where she was in this world.

We held onto hope longer than anyone should have to. We imagined reunions, miracles, and answers that never came—until now.

While this discovery brings renewed grief, it also brings peace. We are finally able to speak her name, honor her life, and lay her to rest with the dignity she deserved.

Our family extends our deepest gratitude to the community members, advocates, and supporters who shared information, offered prayers, and helped keep Marla’s memory alive over the years. Your compassion and dedication made this resolution possible.

After nearly fifty years, Marla Jean Thomas is no longer missing. She is remembered. She is loved. She is finally home.
