MADISON, WI - It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marla Clare Austin, who was a beloved mother, family member, and friend. Marla was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away at SSM St. Mary's after a stroke following a long battle with addiction.

Marla is survived by her son Nicholas (Jennifer) Austin; daughter Amy (Nate) Austin; grandchildren, Jackson Lischka, Lincoln Lischka, and Alexander Austin; sister and brothers: Brenda (Norm) Dahl, Troy Walker, and Tyler (Patti) Walker, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Marland; and mother, Dorothy; step-father, Cecil Hendricks; and brother Todd Walker.

Marla will be remembered as the life of the party, and a supportive mom who enjoyed cooking for her family. She loved her family and will be missed, and we find comfort knowing she is now at peace.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses and to honor Marla's memory.
