Markus's obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Markus Ezerins announce his sudden passing on Sunday, May 15, 2022.

Markus was born in Calgary to Patsy Cheveldayoff and Ivars Ezerins on October 12, 1981. He went on to take multiple business courses over the years and worked as a self-employed business owner. He enjoyed camping, nights by the fire - either in silence or with others, nature walks, time spent with family and friends, reading, expanding his knowledge, business, self-growth, public speaking, politics, psychology, art, debating, voicing his beliefs, and life itself! He had so many beautiful gifts that he shared with those around him. He had goals and dreams which he actively pursued - learning his passions. He was a beautiful person inside and out who showed compassion, understanding, and love for many around him. Markus gave the warmest hugs by far - they were healing hugs. When he hugged you he put all his heart into it. He was the person that loved everybody genuinely. He would greet you when he went for his walks around the neighborhood, he invested his time in others, and uplifted them in their times of need. He believed in the good in people and never gave up on others, even when it seemed like everyone else had. Markus touched the lives of those he got to know in such a way that he will forever be in our hearts.

Markus was a spiritual and forgiving person who took joy in the simple things. He cherished his time here and never took a day for granted. His favorite saying was “make it a great day”. Markus was one of a kind and he is greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a bright light in dark times and his light shone brightly during his 40 years here.

Markus is survived by his mother Patsy C; his great love of 20 years Murielle M; Danny (uncle), Brenda (aunt), Clearisha (cousin) & Daris (cousin); Barbara (aunt), Denis (uncle), Brandy (cousin), Meagan (cousin); Elisabeth (grandmother); Kevin (cousin), Kenny (cousin); Rita (aunt), Peter (uncle), Eddy (cousin), Alex (cousin); Phillip (cousin); and his many friends that he considered family as well. Markus is preceded in death by his father Ivars, grandfather Robert, grandmother Ida, and grandfather Mervin.

Markus loved to read and had marked off a passage:

Abide with me- by Henry F.Lyte

Abide with me - fast fall the eve tide, the darkness deepens - Lord, with me abide; when other helpers fail and comforts flee, Help of the helpless, O abide with me! I need thy presence ev’ry passing hour - What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s pow’r? Who like Thyself my guide and stay can be? Thru cloud and sunshine, O abide with me! Hold thou thy word before my closing eyes, shine thru the gloom and point me to the skies; Heav’n’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadows flee - In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!

Markus will be forever in our hearts, lovingly remembered and cherished for all the joy he brought.
