Mark E. Young of Marion, Ohio passed away January 9th, 2021 of complications from
COVID-19. He was born in Ashland, Ohio to parents Letta (Sigler) and Rodney Young and
graduated from Ashland High School with the class of 1978. Mark was a veteran of the Ohio
Army National Guard, serving with the 1486th Transportation Company out of Ashland from
1980 to 1990, then until 1995 as a Recruiter. He worked at Timken in Ashland from 1979 to
2000. He graduated from North Central State College in 2004 with a Registered Nursing
degree, and was employed with the Ohio Department of Health in Columbus, Ohio. Along with
his parents, he is survived by his wife Terri, whom he married in 2017, two children, Kristie (Ian)
Young of Parma, Ohio, and Matt (Lila) Young of Elmore, Ohio. He is also survived by his sister
Deanne (Rick) McKee of Ashland, Ohio, two grandchildren, Houston and Mireya, and another
on the way. Mark was very artistic and playing guitar was a passion where his musical talent
shone. He enjoyed fishing, and spending time at his camper at Charles Mill with his wife and his
dog, Diesel. Per his wishes, no services will be held.
