Mark's obituary
Our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, Mark Glen Vanier, returned to God unexpectedly on March 6th, 2022, at the age of 57. Mark was born in Iroquois Falls, Ontario on August 6th, 1964, to Richard Vanier (Sr.) and Gail (Vanier) Robertson.
Mark moved to Powell River from Ontario when he was very young, and later moved to Surrey to finish elementary school and high school, but his memories of Powell River were very fond. When he decided to retire, those memories drew him back to Powell River where he found acreage that included a shop to work on his projects.
Mark’s caring spirit and lust for all excitement that life provides could be felt by anyone he encountered. His door and life were always open to those who wished to enter, but you had to be prepared to hang on, as Mark lived life to its fullest. His love for his Harley and the open road brought out the happy free spirit that defined him. Mark also had a love for music, particularly country music and if the conditions were right, he would pull out his harmonica.
His love for the open road and music were only surpassed by the care and passion he had for his family and friends.
When you think of Mark, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is short and should be lived to the fullest. He will be missed more than any words could express but he will be forever in our hearts till we meet again, ride in peace Mark.
Mark is survived by his Mother Gail Robertson, Father Richard Vanier, Sister Pam Philippot, Brother Rick Vanier along with nieces and nephews: Nicole, Brandon, Alexis, Jordan, Jennifer and Ali, and great nephews Bryson, Kaleb, Cole and Mason as well as Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
