Mark's obituary

Mark Paul Turbert, age 78, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on January 21, 2024, in his home surrounded by family. Born in Hartford, CT, Mark proudly served in the United States Army as an E5 Senior Lieutenant in Fort Benning, GA. After his honorable discharge, Mark went on to lead a promising sales career at Electrical Wholesalers and Matco Tools.

Mark loved spending time with his close friends and family. He was always up for a laugh and a good time and cherished the long-standing friendships he made at his local AmVets Post 770. If you knew him, you would know he was not one to shy away from telling people how he felt, even when they didn’t ask for it. He told it like he saw it and lived life with no regrets.

Mark had a passion for traveling in his RV across the country, and he enjoyed supporting local veteran organizations. He also loved the beach life and had many fond memories of living in Black Point, Niantic, CT.

Mark is survived by his wife, Lydia Turbert; his daughter, Erin Vecsey and her husband Matthew Vecsey; his grandsons, Alexander Barnes and Brendon Vecsey; his siblings, Edward Turbert III and his wife Mary, Claire Merkle and her husband Gerhard, James Turbert and partner Susan; and many more loving family members and friends.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Turbert Jr and Claire McCue Turbert; and his brother, Timothy Turbert.

Per Mark’s request, no formal service will be held. Marks’ family wishes to thank everyone who has contacted them and offered support during this difficult time.
