Background
Mark spent his last year of life totally bound to a wheelchair. He was diagnosed with lymphedema in November 2019. Within a month he had totally lost his ability to walk.
The last year of his life he just deteriorated before my eyes. I had to quit my job in online sales and my housecleaning services so I could tend to him. He could not get in or out of bed unassisted. He could not makes his own meals. He was totally dependent on me for everything.
I owe mark a huge debt of gratitude. The year before he was diagnosed with lymphedema, he moved into my 83 year old dad's house, because my dad needed someone there to help him with daily activities, such as getting dressed, cooking, shopping. Etc.
Mark stayed with my Dad up until the day my dad passed away. Mark was not paid, he did it out of love for my dad.
And I could have never found anyone better to stay with my dad. Mark was kind, considerate, and attentive. Mark never made my dad feel embarrassed or ashamed when he couldn't make it to the bathroom.
Mark would just look at my dad and say, 'Come on Billford (my dad's name was Bill and Mark made up the nickname Billford). They were like best friends. My dad told me many times that Mark was like a son to him. They lived each other very much.
Mark was a good man. And he will be dearly missed. Contribute
