Mark Dennis Patterson passed away too young at the age of 53 on October 4, 2022 in his Boise, Idaho home. He is survived and loved by his wife, Mary Lyn Patterson (née Pfeiffer) son, Dimitri Villanueva and dog, Charlie.

Mark was born April 18, 1969, in the Chicagoland area, moved to Baton Rouge during his childhood and then settled in Macon, Georgia. He relocated back to Illinois in 1995 and met his wife Mary four years later, they married in 2007 and remained so. He welcomed Dimitri into his life and became a proud father. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Marilyn Patterson. He is survived by his two brothers, Stephen Patterson (Rhonda) and Keith Patterson along with very supportive in-laws, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Mark graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He had over 25 years of industrial experience in the design, operation, and troubleshooting of custom water treatment and chemical production systems. Mark’s career afforded him the opportunity to become a world traveler. He spent time abroad in France, Chile, Israel, Germany, Italy, and many other countries.

Mark was a private person, you would never know he was a kid at heart playing with his silly trinkets (slinky, yo-yos, spinning tops). He enjoyed just sitting on the couch watching his favorite TV shows and completing jig saw puzzles on his laptop. He was an avid sports watcher. He loved his Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech football and basketball teams. Being a season ticket holder, he attended and tailgated a great deal of Chicago Bears games. Mark and his buddies also reveled in taking trips to visit different major league baseball stadiums. Mark also owned an impressive vinyl album collection and that could often be heard playing from his home (loudly).

Mary and Dimitri thank all of the family, friends, and hospice team for their support and prayers during this very difficult time. Mark is going to be missed by all.

Mark will be cremated at Bowman Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life will proceed at a later date to be announced.
