Mark “Oz” Ossmann, 65, of De Motte, Indiana passed away on May 8, 2025.
Mark was born on June 8, 1959, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Mark was known for his friendly nature and kind heart. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life and built lasting friendships wherever he went. His generosity knew no bounds—he would do anything for his friends and family. Whether it was offering a helping hand or simply sharing a laugh over a cold beer, Mark’s presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.
He was the proud and devoted father of three daughters: Kim (Ivan) Gardea, Michelle “Shell” Ossmann, and Heather Ossmann. His love for them was evident in every aspect of his life. Mark also cherished his role as a grandfather to Madison, Isabel and Sophia. His bond with them was filled with affection and pride.
Mark found great happiness in spending time with his wonderful fiancée Sheryl Radoe. Together they enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, watching sunsets, relaxing by the water on warm summer days, watching the sunset, taking vacations and playing with their dogs. No matter what the activity, Mark and Sheryl were just happy to experience it together.
He is also remembered fondly by his sister Patricia (Jim) Hillman (née Ossmann); brother James (Rose) Ossmann; nephew Joseph (Shannon) Hillman; nieces Jennifer Hillman and Gretchen Ossmann; many great nieces and nephews and dear friends who were touched by his vibrant spirit.
Mark was predeceased by his Father Warren Ossmann; Mother Shirley Ossmann (née Healy); and nephew Jason Ossmann.
A man of many passions, Mark found joy in watching the Chicago Bears play on Sundays, playing pool with friends, cruising on his boat during warm summer afternoons, or simply donning one of his signature bandanas while soaking in the beauty of a sunset. He was always the life of the party—bringing energy, humor, and heart wherever he went.
Mark “Oz” Ossmann leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness in others.
