Mark was born in St. Louis, Missouri on September 14th, 1960, to Dr. Virgil “Bud” Loeb and Lenore Harlow Loeb. He attended John Burroughs High School and graduated in 1978. He went on to study biology at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he graduated in 1983. At Carleton, he met his wife Lori Sevcik Loeb. They were married in Veseli, Minnesota in 1987. Mark and Lori had two daughters, Beatrice and Sophia.

Mark went to medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. He then completed his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minnesota. Mark worked in family medicine for 30+ years. He started his career at Columbia Family Medical Group before moving his family to New Zealand for a year to practice medicine in 2007. Following that adventure, Mark and family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. In Fort Collins, he worked at Mountain View Clinic, Narconon Colorado, and the UC Health Walk in Clinic.

Mark is survived by his wife Lori; his daughters Sophia (24) and Beatrice (23); his sister Katie Doumas and her husband Russell Doumas of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; his brother David Loeb of St Louis, Missouri; his sister Liz McCane and her husband Jim of St. Louis, Missouri; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

From young on, Mark was known for his kind spirit, tremendous sense of adventure, and his wonderful sense of humor. He could make anyone laugh and he was always the life of the party. He loved traveling, camping, mountain biking, fishing, cooking, gardening, playing the harmonica and reading. Mark touched the lives of many through his warmth and non-judgemental nature. He cared deeply for animals and environmental conservation. He helped countless patients and was passionate about his practice. He was an amazing friend, father and husband. Mark will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
