Mark's obituary
Mark Harold Julka, 73, a lifelong resident of Brown County, went to his heavenly home on December 23, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 30, 1952, in Johnsburg to Wilmer and Irma Julka. He attended St. John’s Grade School and graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in 1970.
Mark was a proud Navy veteran. Following his service, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth “Betty” Battiola, and together they shared 50 years of marriage. They raised three sons: Christopher (Kristie), Ryan (Brooke Boettcher), and Aaron (Eduardo). Mark was a proud grandfather to Sam, Ben, and Austin, and also cherished his two step-grandchildren, Jacob and Stella.
Mark was known for his dedicated, hardworking, and fun-loving personality. He was reliable, kind, and had a great sense of humor. Mark was always fun to be with and he made everyone feel welcome. He took great pride in owning and operating his own Snap-on dealership for 23 years. In his free time, Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Above all, he loved spending time with his friends and family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Merle; and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Betty; his sons; and his brother, Arlyn (Patty). He is also survived by his grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Plans for a celebration of life will be held in the spring.
