Happy Heavenly Birthday Mark.

Still come across people and stories I want to ask you about. I didn't realize you helped Gary Ludke get into Dunkin Donuts as well as me. Thank you for that.

There was a beautiful nurse I met this last year who also worked at Dunkin Donuts that knew you and your awesome sister well. I hope you two are laughing a lot just like we all did in the ole days.

Happy heavenly Birthday Mark. 

I wish I had pictures to tell the stories. How about the donut fights in the back room of Dunkin donuts with your sister Ann? We dusted some off and put them back. LoL 

Or when you sat behind me in algebra and you would wake me up every morning by  flicking my ear. I hated that!

Or pictures of the concerts we went to would be good since I don't remember much about them, but you remembered everything.  LoL 

I'm glad I got to spend all that time with you before you left. I feel I should have stayed on the phone longer, but I always thought you were above me and you were just being kind. I didn't want to waste your time. 

It wasn't long before you left that I went to hospitals and called police stations trying to find you when you went missing on fb. I found you with your neighbor and took you to work for a few weeks. You really turned it around quick and I was happy for you when you got that job out of state. Now I'm not. 

I'm guessing you would like Preston to have the Bible I got you during those weeks. I hope he got it and thank you for the Carol King CD. It brings back good memories. 

Looking forward to seeing you again old friend. Think of you still and want to tell you something, but than reality strikes when I realize I can't. 

I have to tell you I was so amazed at your service learning all the life's you touched and never ever bragged about all you had done. 

Praying for your family today Mark, I know it still hurts as it's been over 50 years since my brother left and it still hurts.

I think of Mark every December 18th, all 62 of them and not just because he was my our maternal Grandfathers were brothers, but mainly because he was born on my birthday !  You see, I turned 73 yesterday and I miss Mark every December 18th.  I don't believe we ever got a chance  to celebrate together over the years on that day, but we both knew  as youngsters growing up, it was the worst time of the year for a birthday, as we both got short changed on birthday and/or Christmas gifts !!!!    Any way that's my story and  Chris and I would like to wish Mark, his siblings, and their families a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!

Oh, my - Just think, he missed this year and all that has befallen us. I know you miss him greatly. Little Ralphie! Thanks for sharing this wonderful photo, esp. with Uncle PCB. I can see a lot of my dad in Uncle Bill - that Buck presence, including the white hair. What a lovely gentleman he was. We had such good times visiting there w. you and your family and Barb and all. I miss those times but am so glad I have those memories that include Mark, Annie, Jim, Katherine, and you.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Mark was always friendly and kind when we were classmates at Redford.
I won't be able to attend the memorial. I hope you are all ok. If not yet, things will get easier with time.

I am sorry I will not be able to attend Mark’s memorial service. I grew up in Rosedale Park with Mark, and have so many fond memories of our days at Cooke Elementary. He was smart and always kind. My thoughts and prayers are with you all...💔

The first time I met Mark was in the late 1980's. I walked into the room and he said, "She's not an EE. She's getting a MRS degree." All the engineering guys laughed. I was clueless. Being an Electrical Engineering freshman at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, my first thought was, "What's a MRS degree? Is that a computer science thing?" Nope. Mark threw down the gauntlet. He thought I was in engineering school to find a husband and become Mrs. so-in-so. LOL. But, overtime Mark figured out I was actually smart and no amount of him teasing me was going to get me flustered. We got to be good friends and I saw his softer side. I'll never forget how he asked me to a formal dance. He sat next to me with a very serious look on his face and said, "You're a girl, right?" I nodded yes. "And you own a dress, right?" I nodded yes. His whole face lit up, "I thought so. I mean you're one of the guys and you wear sweats and jeans a lot to school, but I figured you'd own some girly stuff too." I started laughing & didn't know what to say. Mark became very serious again, "I'd like to invite to the (blah, blah). It's dinner and dancing and will be lots of fun." I said, "Wow, OK, that sounds amazing. But tell me more, so I know what kind of dress to wear." He stared at me confused, "You know, something fancy and pretty. It's formal." Formal, good to know!! On the night of the dance, Mark showed up at my front door looking very handsome in his suit. I opened the front door wearing a black velvet strapless pink taffeta ball gown and his face lit up. "See. I knew you'd clean up nice." My first thought was to smack him, but that was his charm. Mark made everything fun and he was always up for an adventure. Over the years, we exchanged Christmas cards and talked endless hours on the phone about our families and kids. Once Mark even visited Stephen (my husband) and I in California. Mark took us line dancing at a country western bar!! Mark said he loved dancing with his wife. Mark was a good man. A very kind soul with a wicked sense of humor. And yes, Mark and I fought like brother and sister. OMG, he was always pushing the envelope. But one thing never changed. Mark had a heart of gold and he loved Theresa, Heidi, & Preston more than anything in the world. I was lucky to call Mark my friend. RIP Mark. Our love and deepest sympathy. XO

I remember Mark as the daredevil uncle. Taking us out on the boat next to the freighters, building huge bonfires on the shoreline at family reunions, and tossing us into the lake. He taught me how to row a boat, fish, and would show all his nieces and nephews his hangout spots as a kid. His love for his family was one you can never replace but one we will all hold dearly within our hearts! One year while visiting we ate at the junction bouy and he made me try escargot. Little did i know escargot meant snail. The look on his face when he told me that was priceless. Alwaysa jokester. Uncle Mark you will be missed dearly.
