We lost a brother that day.  Mark was kind and generous always willing to give up his time to help and serve.  He would do anything for his fellow brat pack brother,  we are called for those of us who know sharon, andy and kara.  We had a special bond and will miss him dearly.  We all love you bro.

The Brat pack,  Scott, Dale, Tom and Barry.

Mark was such a kind and gentle person. Together with Sharon, he raised 2 beautiful and kind children. One of whom is my very best friend who shines with so many of his qualities. I know Kara will always honor his legacy by giving her 3 children  the love, patience, & understanding  she learned from her father. The world is a better place because of him. He will always be with you guys. My heart is broken for all of you. I love you all ❤️

Uncle Mark was one of the most genuine, kindest, and toughest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. At every gathering he brought a sense life and joy to the party, and our family will never feel the same without him. He will be truly missed and always loved by myself and the rest of the family, and the void left by his passing is a difficult one to cope with.

Last Easter, Uncle Mark pointed out into the driveway at my car. He told me very pointedly, “Kyle, don’t EVER get rid of that car.” I will make sure that the keys to my car will never leave my hands. Love you Uncle Mark!

Much love and blessings to Aunt Sharon, Andrew, and Kara. Uncle Mark was truly one-in-a-million. He was so loved, so loving, and will be so missed.
Mark may have more years of service to the Holy Infant Lenten fish frys than anyone. He was always willing to lend a hand, even when he was struggling with the cancer, and was a friend to all of the guys.  I'll miss chatting with him after a hard Friday night's work, cold beverages in hand, and I won't forget something he said to me during what I think was our last conversation: "Just remember how blessed you are - to have the family you have, all these friends, this great community." I know this was something he recognized in himself long before he shared that wisdom with me.  I'll miss him.

My wonderful brother. He was loving, kind, thoughtful, funny, had a memory out of this world! He was such a hard worker. I'll never forget once we were in his garage looking for something and I noticed an old radio all smashed up attached to the wall! I said "what's this?" He replied, that's the radio that I woke up to at 4:30am for work!" Everyday!!!

He will be so missed!

Loved Mark's humor. Shared many a breakfast with him at Uncle Bill's or the French Quarter. He knew where the good food was. Knew a good bourbon and a good cigar. Had great stories. He was everything stated about him here. He will be missed as a member of our group of guys.

Sharon,

So sorry for your loss.  I know Mark was one of the good guys! Our condolences to your whole family.

Sharon, I am so sorry for Mark's passing. Praying for all of you during this most difficult time! Kathie
Oh dearest favorite of mom’s Fab5, life will never be the same without you. I’m grateful for all the years we had with you. I long for more yet only if you could return healthy again. But no, you deserve the peace of heaven. I can just hear you saying, “This is so awesome!” So I say “Pray for us, Mark, so when our time here is through, you can reel us up!”  I love you more than words can say.
A braver and more stoic warrior there never was.  His battle with cancer, though long, was met with good humor and an unwillingness to relinquish his love of life.  So grateful I knew him.
Mark was a great friend. Made so many good memories growing up with Mark and Don. He was a good man and I truly believe he is at peace in Heaven.
My sincere condolences to the Naes family. Mark’s love for his family was evident to all who knew him.  He was an inspiration and a wonderful neighbor who was always eager to lend a hand.  Will miss you Mark.
Mark was such an outstanding friend to our family as a neighbor for decades, always doing whatever he could to help out while inspiring us with his strength and optimism.  We are glad he is free of the pain he endured for so long but his loss will be felt by the community and our prayers for and friendship with his family will endure even longer.
