Mark's obituary

Mark William Froehlich was born March 5, 1962 in El Cajon, California. Later adopted by Homer and Hazel Froehlich, Mark grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and surrounding municipalities, graduating from Maryvale High School in 1980.

A self-proclaimed wild child, Mark spent as much of his time driving his parents crazy as he did making them proud. Secret parties were held and curfews were disregarded, yet he was still beloved by his mother and father.

As a fan of music, and a musician himself in his own right, Mark spent years during and after high school singing in rock n’ roll bands and met some of his closest friends along the way.

Domestic life shifted his time away from the stage when he met, and later married, Geneva Poston in 1984. Over the next three years, the couple gave birth to three children and found themselves with quite a handful of offspring.

Though he met many challenges in his life, Mark still managed to be a devoted father to his children and did everything in his power to provide for them, putting their needs far ahead of his own. Overcoming the trying times that came along with his divorce and experiencing the death of both his parents, he faced quite a few hardships which strengthened his spirit and drew him closer to his children and remaining family.

Many years after losing his parents, Mark learned of his adoption and reached out to both biological parents and met with them over the last 5(?) years. In addition to his biological mother and father, his siblings also became familiar with their new brother and welcomed him with open arms.

Known by friends and family as a witty, sarcastic and intelligent person, Mark’s sense of humor will be greatly missed — as well as his hearty laugh and devious ear-to-ear grin. He loved deeply and cared greatly for all who were in his life.

He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Chris Crawford) and sons Scott and Brandon. Grandchildren Gavin, Dominic, Gabriel and Adam. His sister Nancy (Daniel Hall), Lisbeth Page (together in Heaven), brother William Birch, sisters Nancy Birch (Blair Woodger), Candace Birch-Sterling  (Carl), Laurie Birch (Tom Sterk) and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from his immediate family, Mark is survived by his biological siblings and parents. His biological mother Elinor Musil  and maternal siblings, Cathy Wescott, Dan Musil, Tamara Diodonet, Tom Musil, Pam Musil and Lori Musil. His biological father Paul Weber and paternal siblings, Joe Weber and Bonnie Allen and many more nieces and nephews.

Though he left the world far too soon, his legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren and siblings.

We love you Dad and will forever hold a place for you in our hearts.
