I had the pleasure of getting to know Mark and the family. He was such an amazing man, husband to Kelli, and father to the girls. So kind and patient. Very thankful for the time I knew him.

Mr. Doyle was my 10th grade english teacher back in 2001-2002, the first year the building was open. He had so many life stories he would share with us that somehow would always relate to whatever we would be learning/writing about in class. I was never a fan of school lunch so Mr. Doyle would write me a pass (back then we actually had planners lol) to come back to his class for lunch and help grade papers. I would joke to my classmates I was his favorite. My daughter now goes to LHS and I recently saw Mr. Doyle and he remembered me by first name. I guess that solidifies I remained his favorite throughout the years. :)
You will be missed Mr. Doyle. Sending love and prayers to his family, friends and coworkers.

I truly adored this man. I had the great honor of working along side him and coming into his classroom often. His energy, love and humor are things I will always remember. The days have been sadder here at LHS without him. Sending loving hugs to all of his family and friends who continue to morn the loss of this great man.

Mark was such a wonderful part of my 10+ years at Landstown! I loved to complain- ha! He never did. With no judgment whatsoever, he always helped me to see that there was something to be thankful for. He lived his life in a way that makes me grateful for having known him. Please remember all the good to help you through these tough times without him. My deepest condolences-

My first best friend in the world Kelly. When I came to stay with you in VA and me Mark, I could see why you were in love with each other. You had the same personality’s and were a match very rare. I immediately adored him. I could see he loved our now 40 year friendship. My heart breaks for you. I remember you telling me when you guys tan in to each other again and you knew you wanted to be with him. I am so sad such a wonderful man that with all the strength he had still loved so much is no longer with us. I hope one day his loved ones can smile at the short time they have had with such an amazing person and laugh and smile at the times spent with Mark. Much love to his family and friends.

I remember 2010. 2010 was the year I was taking Honors English and the name Mark Doyle popped up on my schedule. I heard he was this angelic man who happened to be in a wheelchair, but was loved by all faculty and students alike. I remember my desk was right in front of his, which meant it was the best seat in the house! All the times he would mention his love of surfing, music, or even discussing school lessons about Oedipus Rex was nothing short of pure joy coming from his mouth. His comedic relief by making smart ass jokes or even ramming his wheelchair into a student’s desk was always the best and put smiles on everyone’s faces, with Mr. Doyle’s smile being the largest and brightest.
I cried writing this message. I never thought such a man would make an impact on a 16 year old’s life at the time. Mr. Doyle, thank you for always showcasing genuine authenticity. You are and always will be a prime example of a man who is the embodiment of love and passion no matter what you put your heart to. Thank you for everything. I will see you again someday.

Mr. Doyle had an incredible impact on many lives over the years at Landstown High School. He radiates a beautiful, calm energy. He’s vibrant, passionate, kind, intelligent, ambitious, hilarious, and overall a phenomenal person. No words will ever be able to genuinely express my gratitude to him and all he has taught me, not only about english and literature but about the world, people, and life. He has made a huge impact on how I view things in my everyday life and for the better. He has a heart of gold that shined so bright and I thank God for gifting me the present of knowing him. Sending so much love, support, and prayers to his wonderful family. May his soul rest in eternal love and peace. 🤍.
