When I first left Maine and headed to California to visit my dad for the first time, I had no idea how deeply he would shape my life. I’d known him as my dad, of course, but it was when I decided to move to California that he became my mentor, my guide, and the catalyst for a future I hadn’t yet envisioned. From that first day, Kevin’s influence was everywhere. He opened my eyes to a world of opportunity I’d never imagined, starting with my current career in sales. Sales wasn’t just a job to him; it was an art, a way to connect with people, and he had an uncanny ability to draw out the best in those he met. His guidance and enthusiasm pushed me into a career that I’ve come to love, giving me a path I’m proud to follow.
But Kevin’s impact extended far beyond my professional life. His passions became mine, shaping my character and the things I hold dear. He introduced me to the strength and discipline of martial arts, instilling in me resilience and focus that has carried me through countless challenges. Motorcycles, too, became a shared thrill between us, symbolizing freedom and the courage to venture beyond the familiar. In archery, he taught me patience and precision, lessons that stretched beyond the range into all areas of life. His love for history made every tale come alive, each moment steeped in the wonder and weight of those who came before us. With him, even the simplest things became adventures, from an impromptu trip to somewhere new to the quiet excitement of planning a journey together. Traveling with him, I learned to savor every place, to explore with curiosity and an open heart, just as he did.
Kevin’s love for nautical and music ran deep, and he brought the sea and music into every corner of his life. Boats, guitars, drums, harmonicas, and maritime relics surrounded him at all times. And perhaps above all, his love for his family was steadfast and profound. He cared for his children with fierce pride and devotion, from me to my siblings, Winnie, Cameron, Bradley and Sirga. His laughter, his wisdom, and his relentless curiosity left a mark on all of us, shaping who we are today. While it’s deeply somber to say goodbye, I will continue to celebrate his life as it is a tribute to his influence. My Dad's legacy is a life well-lived, brimming with adventure, love, and joy—a spirit that will continue to light our paths forward, wherever life takes us.
