Margie's obituary
Margie grew up in Sherman Oaks, CA as the daughter of Lois and Ed Postel with her three brothers (Jon deceased). After completing her degree at UCLA and receiving her teaching credentials, Margie began a life-long career of teaching and mentoring other teachers. Her generous spirit and a deep religious calling led her to begin missionary work at about this time, first traveling to Guatemala and other Central American countries. Her work as a missionary led her to Hawaii where she began working with Youth With a Mission, an evangelical missionary group. There she met and married Garry Bradshaw and gave birth to Nathan in 1973. After her second son, Jeremy was born in 1979, they moved to upstate New York and then Scotland. Garry passed away suddenly in 1988; from then on, Margie was a single parent in addition to working full time. She continued her missionary work and her passion for helping children by establishing kindergartens in Macedonia, Romania and The Gambia. In 2005, she moved back to the USA to live with her mother, Lois, in Oxnard. She met Doug Hanson and they were married in 2008.
Margie loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures with her sons and their families. Margie was a wonderful person and an inspiration to all who who knew her. She will be missed.
Margie is survived by her husband, Doug Hanson; her two sons, Nathan Bradshaw (Julie), Jeremy Bradshaw (Malin); brothers Rus (Julie) and Thomas (Joyce), Three grandchildren, Hana, Lilly and Ruby.
