Mario's obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mario Esposito on February 22, 2025. Born on May 20, 1949 in Fagnano Castello, Italy, Mario lived a life characterized by love for his family and community, brave service to his country, and enduring loyalty to his favorite sports teams.
As a beloved husband, father, and grandfather - or Nonno, as he was affectionately known - Mario's legacy is a testament to his warm heart and spirited life. He is survived by his loving wife Jane, his sons Joseph and John, his daughter-in-law Melissa, his cherished grandsons Silas, Rocco and Jake Mario Esposito and sisters Maria, Lucia and Annina. His parents, Achille and Fortunata Esposito, brothers Vincenzo and Gino, and sister Rosina predeceased him, and we take comfort in knowing that a joyful reunion has taken place beyond this mortal plane.
Mario was a proud veteran, having bravely served in the Vietnam War. This service was but one of his remarkable achievements - a testament to his strength, courage, and dedication. Ever the sports enthusiast, his favorite teams included the NY Yankees, NY Rangers, NY Giants, and Ohio State. He was known to passionately cheer them on, cultivating a love for the game within his family and friends.
The void left by Mario's passing is immeasurable, but the richness of his life will forever influence and inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His love, laughter, and wisdom have created a lasting legacy, particularly for his grandsons, for whom he was the best Nonno they could ever ask for.
As we mourn Mario's passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, courage, and unwavering devotion to family. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew and loved him.
