Background
To everyone who may not yet have heard yet, Elizabeth and Simone’s Mother, Marina Solovey, 56, passed away suddenly on May 17, 2019.
Marina Solovey and Igor Mamedov were traveling out of the country. Marina’s two daughters, son-in-law, and granddaughter were away on a cruise. The family faced numerous difficulties in their attempts to have Marina flown home, with flights only being available a few days out of the week and having issues with clearance. On Monday morning, they were finally cleared and will both be returning to New York on Tuesday morning.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 22 at Kehila Chapels 60 Brighton 11th St, Brooklyn NY 11235 at 11:00 am. Service will begin at 12:00 pm.
A memorial service will be held in Baltimore, MD on Friday May 24 at Sol Levinson 8900 Reisterstown Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208 at 10. Service will begin at 11.
Thank you for the numerous calls and messages from everyone expressing their condolences and asking how to help. Marina played a huge role in the lives of her daughters and granddaughter. As you can imagine, this has been a huge emotional loss for those close to Marina. This has also created a huge financial burden on the family, during an already difficult time.

Before this happened, Marina was incredibly happy and enjoying her vacation. Simone texted her Friday morning at 6:36AM and asked if she was ready to come home. Playfully, she answered “not really”.
