Marilyn (Lynn)'s obituary

Marilyn Jean (Jeppesen)Carson (89), AKA Lynn Carson, formally of Evanston, IL passed away on Saturday November 23rd, 2019 peacefully at Harbor Chase of Long Grove, IL with her children by her side.
She was proceeded in death by her brother, Fred Leland (Freddy Lee) Jeppesen, her mother, Gladys Leota (Lindbeck) Jeppesen; her father Fredrick I. Jeppesen, Stepmother Bernice (Bea) Jeppesen Pier, Nephew, Jeffrey Nakashima and Husband Rodney Dean Carson Jr. (Dean).
She was born in Moline IL on July 15th 1930. She moved to Dubuque IA where she graduated from Dubuque High school. As a young woman she did some modeling. She married her husband in June 1949 and was a devoted wife for 69 years until his passing in July of 2018.
She worked as a civilian for the U.S. Army Department of Intelligence for seven years at offices in Chicago and at Fort Sheridan IL. She was a kind and devoted mother to her two children. Always active and supportive of their endeavors in school sports and various social memberships. She was a Camp Fire Girls group leader for ten years; serving on the Camp Fire District and Chicago Counsel Board of Directors. She worked at Saint Frances Hospital in Evanston for 27 years in the development office and for the Auxiliary. She always had a smile for those around her and never asked for things for herself but, always sought ways to help others along her way. To know Lynn was to know a kind sprit with a positive outlook who was regarded as a beautiful person on the inside and out by others. Her love of animals was endless; especially for her Golden Retreivers (Hannah and Ashley). She loved her church, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Evanston, and served many roles including bringing communion to those in their homes. She knitted hats for newborns and helped make quilts for those in need. Everyone who knew her always spoke of her endless kindness to others.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia L. Carson (Donna) of Braidwood, IL; her son Collier D. Carson (Marla) of Deerfield, IL her loving sisters Dianne Jeppesen Stroehle of Hazel Green, WI, Denise (Niecy) Jeppesen Sroka of Dubuque, IL, Paula Jeppesen Sloan (John) of Palm Desert CA, three grandchildren Kyle, Dara and Katharine Carson, ten nieces and nephews and their children. The family would like the thank the many care givers from Silverado Memory Care Center of Highland Park IL and of Harbor Chase of Long Grove, IL for all they did to care for Lynn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 18th at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church 616 Lake St. Evanston, IL 60201 (Corner of Lake and Sherman).https://immanuelevanston.org/ Lunch to follow in Church reception hall.
