Marilyn's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Marilyn English on May 27, 2024. Born on January 8, 1928, Marilyn lived a remarkable life, marked by caring, giving, and an outgoing personality that touched everyone she encountered.

Throughout her early adulthood, Marilyn embraced life's opportunities wholeheartedly. As a talented dancer, she took great pleasure in performing as a Rockette. She also took pride in serving as an Aide, showing tours of the Pentagon and the White House. These experiences shaped her into a woman of strength and grace, always ready to lend a hand where needed.

Marilyn's contributions were not limited to her personal accomplishments. In 1995, she took part in the WIBC Championship Tournament, a testament to her passion and dedication. She left behind a legacy of kindness and generosity, symbolic of her helpful, thoughtful, and religious nature.

To Marilyn, family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her sister, Theresa Lovern and her daughters, Virginia Hidalgo and Doreen Nicholaw. She was predeceased by her husband, James English; her parents, Annie (Irber) and Joseph Kohler; her siblings, Martha Gooch, Peggy (Marguerite) Violette, Charles Kohler, Freddy (Eugene) Kohler, and Jack Kohler; and her children, Lynda Jean Lane (Ritchie), William Allen Ritchie and Terry Dean Ritchie.

She taught others how to provide for themselves and live a prosperous life, lessons that will continue to resonate with those who had the privilege to learn from her. Marilyn's unique personality and spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A service to remember and honor Marilyn's life will be held on June 11, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St Cecilia Catholic Church. As we bid her farewell, we celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of all those she has left behind.
