Marilyn's obituary

Marilyn Louise Carr, 73, of McSherrystown, PA. passed away on March 23rd, 2023. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Elizabeth Carr of Maple Shade, NJ; nephews Matthew Carr of Chicago, IL. and Ryan Carr of Cherry Hill, NJ; and cousins Linda Scheff Lugo of Carlisle, PA., and Robert, Russel, and Thomas Malsbury of Medford, NJ. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Joseph L. Carr, her mother, Mary L. Carr, and brothers Wayne and Arthur Carr. Marilyn grew up in Delran, NJ and then McKnightstown, PA. where she attended school in the Gettysburg Area School District. Upon graduating from Gettysburg High School she served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1971. After receiving her honorable discharge from the military she attended Colombia Union College in Tacoma Park, MD. and Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA with a career in animal care in mind. She later was employed as an assistant in both a veterinarian's office and an ASPCA. Along with her love of animals Marilyn's other passion was the study of history with American Military History being of most interest to her. Her home was lined with bookshelves filled with hundreds of volumes of both American and world history. Respecting Marilyn's wishes a small, private burial was held at Lakeview Cemetery in Cinnaminson, NJ.
