Throughout her life, Marilyn faced cancer and other health challenges with courage, supported by an unwavering circle of family and friends who cherished her deeply. She was predeceased by her parents, Ruth Louise Morris and Bill Blimes Sr., her brothers Mark Edwin Blimes and David Alan Blimes, and her sister-in-law Lee Blimes. She is survived by her brother Bill Blimes Jr. and sister-in-law Sylvia Cox Blimes of Palm Coast, Florida, as well as dear friends Joan Hepsworth and Tammy Perone-Hepsworth, who shared her home and heart in New Port Richey.
Marilyn never married but was never without love. She generously shared her laughter and kindness in the workplaces she graced, among online friends, and especially with her nieces and nephews, whose visits she treasured. Known for her compassion, Marilyn often reached out to struggling families with gifts and donations, quietly making a difference in the lives of many children.
Music was Marilyn’s lifelong passion, with John Denver holding a special place in her heart. She proudly served as the president of the National John Denver Fan Club for many years. Her strong beliefs in equality and justice led her to participate in peaceful protests and advocate for fairness and kindness wherever she could. Marilyn’s commitment to her friends and causes was unwavering; she was a steady source of support and care.
Marilyn’s ashes will be released in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, a place of joyful memories where she spent many hours whale watching with her mother and sister-in-law, Lee. In remembrance of Marilyn’s generous spirit, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Her laughter, love, and dedication to making the world a better place will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
