I first met Marilyn the summer before we entered Mills College in 1968. The Los Angeles Mills Club held a tea for entering freshmen, and we both attended--wearing the same dresses (except that hers was pink and mine was green). We knew right away that we would be friends. It was a really good surprise when we arrived on campus and learned that we had dorm rooms right across the hall from each other. Over the years, we discovered we had many more important things in common, but I always admired her fashion sense.

Marilyn, Mills, and our Mary Morse residence hall were the three M’s that tied us all together. We entered as fresh women together and shared more stories and laughter (often led by Marilyn) than we can recall during our four years together. We reunited in 2018 at our 50th college reunion on the Mills campus and the years melted away. Having Marilyn across the hall once again for three days was a true blessing for me. My deepest sympathies to the family. Marilyn will be deeply missed but long remembered by her “Mary Morsal” friends.

I'm thankful for the legacy that Mrs. Arrington left of being a fierce lover of family, an avid educator, and always keeping it 100! She will be missed. Sending warm hugs to you all.
