Marie's obituary

Marie Campbell Wilson, 86, of Toronto, ON, passed away on December 12th, 2020 after battling Alzheimer's, and succumbing after a one-week battle with the COVID virus.
Marie was born on February 28, 1934 to Christie and Jeannette Langford in Ottawa, Ontario. She was the middle sister to two other wonderful sisters, Jessie McCullough (Fred) and Isabel Unger (Ray). She spoke so fondly of her time growing up in Ottawa with family and friends around her.
After high school, she became a teacher, moved to Toronto with her family, and shortly thereafter, met her love, Reverend Garth Wilson, who was also from the Ottawa region. She and Garth married in 1962 at her mother's home in Etobicoke. They lived most of their lives in Etobicoke, but also spent some years in Waterloo, ON, and Prince Rupert, B.C.. They both loved travelling to London, England and various driving trips around the USA.
She will be greatly missed by many family members and friends that she interacted with in the places that they lived, as well as St. Andrew's Presbyterian Six Points, Wychwood Davenport Presbyterian Church, Latin American Mission, the Christian Women's Club, Rexdale Alliance Church, First Presbyterian in Prince Rupert, Camp Koinonia, her many colleagues in the North York board of education, McKellar, the "meeting" (Plymouth Brethren), amongst so many others.
Marie will be remembered as a kind, loving soul, who cared greatly for the disenfranchised and forgotten in this world. She was a loving mother to her two sons, Stephen and David. A loving sister to her predeceased sister, Jessie and brother-in-law, Fred, and surviving sister Isabel and her husband Ray. A loving mother-in-law and grandmother to her daughter in love Casey, and grandchildren Caleb, Zachary, Jayna, and Ziva. A loving aunt to her nephews, nieces and grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
Her legacy is that of love, prayer, and support. She was always writing cards of encouragement, friendship and love. She wanted everyone that she interacted with to know that she cared for them, and that care originated from the love and care that Jesus first showed her.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Holland Christian Homes(info@hch.ca ). They worked tirelessly and cared deeply for Marie in her last days, weeks, and years - especially in the midst of this COVID crisis that claimed her life.
Marie was a woman of prayer. She would have wanted to share this with you: "Fear not for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God, I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Jesus loves you, wants to support you and does not want you to be afraid. She is now resting and rejoicing with Jesus in eternity.
