Marie & Wayne's obituary
Some lives are simple to tell, and others are more complicated. But every life leaves a story, and every story deserves to be remembered.
Our Dad, Wayne Poster, 67, originally from International Falls, Minnesota, and Mom, Marie Poster, 62, was a lifelong Seattleite. They shared much of their lives together after meeting at Magnuson Park in the 80’s. From that moment forward, their lives became intertwined with each other and with the city they called home. My brother and I were both in the early 90’s and they remained married for the rest of the years they spent on this earth.
Those who knew Wayne remember his roots in northern Minnesota and the path that eventually brought him to the Pacific Northwest. Marie remained closely tied to Seattle throughout her life, a city that shaped much of who she was.
Wayne passed away in December 2023, and Marie passed in February 2026. Their lives were complex and not without hardship, but they shared decades of history, family, memories, pets, and everything in between. Wayne and Marie are survived by their siblings, near and far, in addition to my brother and I.
Together they raised my brother and I, and despite the challenges life sometimes brought, one thing that remained constant was their love for us and how proud they always were. They spoke often about us to anyone who would listen, and the accomplishments we made. They were quite proud in the lives we built and wanted us to know it, too. We were loved, always.
As we work through the process of settling their estate and final affairs, contributions toward estate administration costs, remaining bills, property taxes for the family home and additional costs that will be incurred are deeply appreciated. A combined memorial for both Marie and Wayne is being considered as well. Any assistance during this challenging and heartbreaking time is greatly appreciated.
