Marie's obituary
Marie Victoria Self Ward, born December 2nd, 1940, in Romney, West Virginia to Burlie Osten Self and Goldie Marie Nazelrod Self, passed away on October 1st, 2021, in Riverton, Utah.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, nine months, and one day- Gary L. Ward, two of her three children- Pamela Ward Allen and Andrea Ward Smith, and four of her seven siblings- Glen Austin, Wanda Mae, Sharon Elaine, and Ruby Grace.
She is welcomed in heaven by her godly parents- Burlie Osten and Goldie Marie, three of her siblings- twin sister Mary Alice, Virginia Susan, and David Lynn, one of her children- Heather Marie, and one grandchild- Trevor Osten.
Marie was an extremely kind woman with a strong passion for her family, her friends, and her church. She devoted much of her time working on her family’s genealogy records and collecting names for temple work. It is a passion she began at age seventeen and continued up until she passed. She frequently impressed temple workers and those around her with her dedication and the quantity of names she collected to perform temple work for.
Marie was a very special daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and most of all- friend. She will be sorely missed by all those that had the great pleasure of knowing her.
To bid our final farewell, a viewing will be held at her local church (12830 S 2700 W Riverton, Utah) from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, October 8th, 2021, Funeral Service is to begin at 12:30 pm, and will be immediately followed by a graveside service at Camp Williams.
A light meal will be held in her honor for family and friends at (12830 S 2700 W Riverton, Utah) following the graveside services.
