Marie Byrd Solomon-Williams passed away on April 18, 2024, in New Orleans, LA, at the age of 78. She was born on May 15, 1946, in New Orleans.

She is survived by daughters Angela Byrd and Angel West, sisters Adora Williams, Angenette (Ernest) Williams, Bessie (Benton) Simmons, Beatrice (Ronald) Williams, Sheila Woods, Lisa Youngblood, brothers Richard (Yvette) Smith, Warren (Rachel) Smith, brother-in-law Larry Stewart, nieces Samira (Boo Boo) Williams, Lavita Tumbs, and Don’Monique Smith, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Rosalie and William Williams, sisters Debra Williams, Florence Scott, and Beverly Stewart, sister-in-law Gail Smith, brother Lawrence Byrd, nephews Antione Williams, Richard Byrd, Mervin McGee, Emmanuel Reine, Lil Warren Smith, nieces Sabrina Williams, and Warnika Smith.

A visitation will be held on May 4, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 a.m. at New Israel Baptist Church, 6322 St. Claude Ave, New Orleans, LA 70117.

The Boyd Family Funeral Home in New Orleans, LA, is assisting with the arrangements.
