Marie (Logan) Schaeffer , 94, of Tinton Falls, NJ passed away on February 23, 2021 at home. Marie resided at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living and was an active participant in the community programming especially bingo. She was known as Sissy by her cousins and nieces and nephews. Marie loved to dance and to spend time with her family and doted on her grandchildren.
Marie was born September 18,1926 in New Brunswick, NJ, to George and Marie (Groben) Logan. In 1947, Marie was married to Robert Schaeffer.
Marie was a switch board operator at Camp Kilmer during WWII and worked as a bank teller for many years. After raising her children, Marie was an AVON representative and team leader. Marie’s last job before retirement was in the 1980’s as a bookkeeper at Gratz GMC in Cape May Court House.
Marie was predeceased by her husband Robert, daughter Shirley Osborn, and siblings Gloria Warger and George Logan.
Marie is survived by her sons, Robert (Evelyn) Schaeffer Jr. of Subic Bay, Philippines, Thomas (Diane) Schaeffer of Wenonah; daughter, Elizabeth (Michael) Carman of Tinton Falls; grandchildren Tiffany (Nick) Pellegrin of Mantua, Tammy Schaeffer of Wenonah, David Birzin of Baltimore, Md, Paul Birzin of Tinton Falls and brother Lawrence Logan of Dayton.
Visitation for Marie was held privately. Ewing Cemetery, Ewing, NJ will be Marie’s final resting place. Graveside services will be held at a future date.
