Marie Martha Linklater born on August 26 1926, gained her angel wings on Sunday October 8 2023 at the age of 97 at 12:00 noon with her grandson by her side. 

Marie was born on a reserve  (Attawapiskat first nations)  in Attawapiskat and lived there with her parents and siblings until she was takin away from her Mother and placed into a residential school, (St Anne's) in Fort Albany, from 6 years old until 11 years old.

Her father passed away when she was just 4 years old. 

Marie’s siblings: Henry, Louie, Louisa, Caroline Joseph and Annabelle.

Marie is predeceased by her son Michael Earl Caplan, Mother- Marie Gull (Kioskeoshish), Father-George Linklater, Brothers and Sisters.

Marie has 2 grandchildren, Carol VanBrunt and Michael Caplan. 

Marie has 4 great grand children, Sarah Russell Vaillancourt, Steve VanBrunt, Julia VanBrunt and Shawn VanBrunt (step grandchild) and 1 step-great great grandchild Tommy.

And niece Judy Linklater.

Marie worked at the Riverdale Hospital until her retirement, well over 30 years ago.

Besides her family, her greatest joy in life was spreading and rejoicing in the word of Christ.

It was a great blessing to have Marie spend much of her time caring for her grand children and also her great grand children.

She is going to be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Marie also completed degree level bible courses in her 70's and 80's.

She also completed her education studies in the late 1980's taking home courses.

Marie left an impact on everyone she met, "Jesus Loves You"!!
