Liz's obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marie "Liz" Buckley, affectionately known to all as Liz, who departed this life on Feb 6, 2024. She was born in love and laughter on Dec 2, 1964, to her parents Dorothy Hobbs and Joel Buckley, both of whom precede her in death.

Liz was a woman of warmth. Her caring nature and loyal spirit resonated deeply with those fortunate to know her. Her unique personality made her an anchor in the lives of her family and friends. She was immensely passionate about the wellbeing of her loved ones and consistently advocated for their happiness.

Her love for music was deeply rooted in the Blues, the rhythm and soul of which echoed in the vibrant essence of her everyday life. She was spirited and always eager to share her love for music with those around her. Liz found immense joy in spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Hayli, and her niece, Lainey. Their shared laughter and memories will forever echo in the hearts of those they touched.

Liz also found fulfillment in traveling, with California holding a special place in her heart with her best friends Mark and Jeff. The memories made in these locations will forever serve as a testament of her adventurous spirit and love for life.

To Liz, treating people right was not just a lesson, but a way of life. Her gentleness and kindness towards others were inspirational and will be remembered by many. A warm, loving, and loyal woman, Liz was a beacon of light in the lives of those around her.

Liz will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her son, Nathan Rutledge, her granddaughter, Hayli Rutledge, and her brothers, Joe Hobbs & wife Holly and Joel Buckley. Her legacy of love, kindness, and undying spirit will live on through them.

Her family, friends, and all who knew her mourn her loss. The void left by her departure is immense, but the love she spread during her lifetime remains to fill it. Liz will always be remembered for her radiant smile, her generous heart, and the love she had for her family and friends.
