Our beautiful mother, Marie Antoinette Green, affectionately known as Pluck, danced her way home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the age of 61. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Marie carried the heartbeat of the city in her spirit. Marie was the beloved daughter and only child of Jacqueline “Cateye” Green, a woman whose presence felt like music wherever she went.

Marie leaves to cherish her legacy of  two loving children, Jacquelyn Green and Frank Green. Eight precious grandchildren. (4)granddaughters Qqliyah Green, Jnya Bannister, Ja’Mirah Bannister, and Jaela Bannister, (4)grandsons Jni Bannister, Frank Green Jr., Sincere Green, and Timbaland Whatley;  her devoted companion, Rodney Bright. Marie is also lovingly remembered by her uncle, David Mayho Sr. (Lois Mayho) , along with a host of cousins, family, and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline “Cateye” Green, and her aunt, Jessie Bell Green.

If you knew Pluck, you knew she never entered a room quietly. She came in smiling, laughing, dancing & bringing joy like a brass band on a Sunday afternoon. She was warmth, rhythm, and light. She was the reason the party felt alive.

Our family won’t say goodbye in silence. In true New Orleans fashion, we will celebrate her life the way she lived it with love, laughter, music, and dancing. We will second line in our hearts and turn our tears into joy, because Pluck wouldn’t have it any other way.
