Marianne's obituary
Marianne Eddy Guth, 81, passed away peacefully at her home in Paris, TN on March 30, 2024. Marianne was born on August 25, 1942 in Oak Park, IL to the late Edward Charles Eddy and the late Laurian Marie Raab Eddy. She is survived by sisters Laurian Baker, and Irene (Gary) Collatz; sisters-in-law Kathleen Eddy and Frances Eddy; brothers Dennis (Gail) Eddy, and Thomas (Sheila) Eddy; and adopted brother Lawrence (Janice) Novak; 24 nieces and nephews, 22 great-nieces and great-nephews, and 4 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Marianne is preceded in death by her sister Maureen (Eileen) Eddy; brothers Edward, William, Phillip, Michael, and Kenneth; nephews Alan and Dennis Schmidt, Frank, Kevin, and John Eddy; and great-niece Tesa Eddy.
Marianne married Richard Guth on June 8, 1979 in Maywood, IL. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2011.
Marianne's priority of and focus on family ran the full span of her 81 years from caring for her siblings to being involved in the lives of their families. She was present for the larger moments as well as the daily times of laughter and tears.
She worked all of her life in Illinois with her career ending at Ceco Steel in Broadview, IL after 25 years. When she and Rich retired, they moved to Paris, TN where they enjoyed their laid back lifestyle and new friendships. Marianne loved sharing her baked and cooked goodies with all the people in her life, from family and friends to nurses and doctors, as well as those she opened her doors and her loving heart to. Her unconditional love for the people she loved is her legacy. Marianne will be missed by all of us lucky to be a part of her life all of these years.
