Marian's obituary

Marian Frances Torres♥ , 67, passed away on February 21, 2023 in San Jose, California, surrounded by her beloved family.

Marian was born to Joe and Eva Torres on September 08, 1955 in Hollister,  California. Marian has a large community of family and friends that love her and will miss her deeply.

"May", as she loved to be called, was a grandmother of 12 and a great-grandmother of 5. She had a passion for the Arts; including mixed-medium journaling, poetry, painting, sketching, and in her past enjoyed traditional Mexican Folklórico, and Egyptian Arabic Folk Dance. May's gentle soul and fun loving spirit was a gift to all that knew her. She loved her friends and family dearly and could light up a room with her contagious laughter. May's signature fragrance will remain with all who were close to her; her femininity, humor, and natural comedic nature and timing always brought joy to those around her. Her Bohemian fashion forward style was inspired by her love for the Thrift and finding pieces of the past. May also enjoyed gardening and reconditioning old furniture pieces to reflect her style. She was also infamously known for her family Christmas get togethers, where she always starred in the talent shows, and was always the one taking the pictures. May also loved nature and when she lived in Santa Cruz she loved visiting Fasting and Prayer Mountain and the beach. May loved to attend the yearly women's retreat located in Yosemite at the Tenaya Lodge with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church , she also loved attending the Wiemar NEWSTART retreat where she was re-baptized into the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. May also ran the Angwin to Angwish 10k Marathon twice with her sister Sandy at Pacific Union College where she once attended.

May was a loyal servant to God, she loved her church and had a desire to share her faith with her family and friends. Her heart's desire was that her children would all have a prayerful life and a relationship with Jesus. May had a kind heart and a great empathy for people. May retired two years ago from Kaiser Permanente where she worked in behavioral health as a Mental Health Worker. Prior to her passing she moved to Morgan Hill where she had a view of El Toro, a prominent hill that she loved from her beautiful new residence that she adored.

May joins her beloved parents Joe and Eva Torres who are also sleeping in Jesus. She is survived by many loving family members, including her daughters Heather Roach, Angelina Baker, Megan Redmond, and Laura Vidal; her grandchildren Yvonne Valles, David Montgomery-Saenz, Jacob Roach, Ariel Godinez, Hailie Baker, Kylie Baker, Madison Baker, Mikayla Plushnik, Mya Plushnik, Mosaic Leasiolagi , Molosi Leasiolagi, and Alexander Vidal; her great-grandchildren Julian Montgomery, Oliver Montgomery, Beau Roach, John Williamson , and Rosaline Nogami-Baker; her sisters Sandra Torres and Diana Pedregon,  and her brother Joe Torres♥

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

1 Corinthians 2:9 King James Version
