Marian Elisabeth (Potts) (nee Mayer) Hislop passed away January 21, 2025 in Coquitlam, BC. Born December 12, 1933 in Toronto, Ontario. 

Marian lived a life enriched by creativity, compassion and meaningful connections.

An exceptional student, Marian graduated early before pursuing her passion for design at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) She earned her credentials as an Interior Designer and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career as a Space Planner at Canada Life where her artistic sensibility and attention to detail left a lasting impression.

She enjoyed the arts and sailing as hobbies to enriched her life.

Marian's warm personality and generous spirit endeared her to many. She had a natural gift for conversation and took genuine interest in those around her.

Her style and creativity extended beyond her professional life into everyday moments, where she brought beauty and thoughtfulness to all she did.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters,  Catherine Elizabeth Potts, St. Catharines, Ontario and Carolyn Anne Potts, Coquitlam, British Columbia. Marian also leaves behind her three cherished grandchildren, Ainne Heather Hickey, Conor Martin Hickey  and Kevin Patrick James Hickey of Coquitlam, British Columbia. 

She was predeceased by her sisters Clara Spielman and Madelaine Burbridge.

To honor Marian's memory and the joy she brought to others there were 2 small Celebrations of Life in Ontario at her favorite places.

A final Celebration of Life will be held in Vancouver - a city where she shared many joyful moments with her grandchildren.

Marian will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and creativity lives on in the hearts she touched.
