Our beloved mother and grandmother, Maria Teresa Lopez-Cosme, 77, of Hartford, CT, went home to God’s Kingdom on January 28, 2023, surround by loved ones, after a 7 1/2 year battle with multiple myeloma, renal failure and in her final month, her cause of death, MRSA-born sepsis.

Maria was born on October 13, 1945 in San Juan, PR.  At 19, Maria would meet Angel L. Arzuaga and go on to have 3 children. After their separation, she went on to search for a better life with her 3 children, in the city of Hartford, CT, where they would spend the better part of their lives. She was a loyal servant of God, first and foremost. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ.  She was also a strong, resilient and feisty women, a fighter, even until her final moments. Her favorite activities included cooking, sewing/knitting/crocheting and pinecone collecting . She joins our beloved sister and aunt in Heaven. She is survived by many loving family members, including her son Angel L. Arzuaga Jr., daughter America Arzuaga, grandson Gabriel M. Rivera-Arzuaga, and granddaughter Alexandria M. Rivera-Arzuaga. She was truly loved and will be truly missed. May she finally be at peace with the Lord.
