Maria's obituary

Maria Trinidad Lopez,

known as Nanny, peacefully passed into her new life on December 25th, 2022, at 11:48 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas, surrounded by those she cherished dearly, her two daughters, two grandsons, her granddaughter & long-time family friend Jerry Rodriguez. The Three Grandsons, Robbie, Wesley & Michael, that could not attend, she held close to her heart..

She pass at 78 years old. Nanny was born on October 16, 1944, in Killeen, TX, to Jesus & Antonia Garza~Lopez

Nanny attended Killeen High School, after which she enjoyed working as a waitress at El Acapulco Mexican Restaurant, famously known as "The Sugar Shack."

Nanny & Ben Spurlin met in 1965 and were married on July 22nd, 1967. Following the birth of her two daughters, Nanny eagerly stepped into the role of homemaker & delighted in being a devoted wife & mother in every way.

She was a loving Mamá, not only to her two daughters, but also to many in our family providing the comfort and happiness that only a mother can give.

Nanny was a Christian, addending First Assembly of God, she loved the fellowship & instilled in her daughters the way of God's Unconditional Love. She was a perfect example of the word, Love. Everything she ever did in life or every sacrifice she made was because of her love. Nanny had such an enduring silly side who loved to make people laugh. Always referred to as "The life of the party."

Always a gracious host, she cherished the fellowship of friends & family. She never met a stranger, for everyone she crossed paths with was a friend to her.

Nanny's loved Roses & Sunflowers, her favorite pastime included TLC's reality TV, Lifetime movies, Slot machines, scratch off's, cherry vanilla Ice cream and fruit of any kind. ❤

Her Legacy will be remembered by countless people near and far.

Nanny was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Spurlin, granddaughter, Seaerra Fields, Mother and Father, Jesus G Lopez and Antonia  Lopez, Brothers: Jose Adam, Emmit, Raymond, & Henry Lopez

Sister: Anita Lopez, Margarita Thompson, Connie Prudencio, and Evangelina Garza.

She will be incredibly missed in this life by her Brother Jesse Lopez and Sister Annie Lopez, daughters, Maria Antoinette and Cynthia Ann Lopez, Granddaughter, Maricela Lopez, Grandsons, Michael Spurlin, Keon Fields, Nicolas Quezada, Robbie Brewton, Wesley Brewton, Great-grandchildren, Naomi Bella Spurlin, Ashton Brewton, Kal-el Brewton,

Her survivors also include numerous other loving nephews, nieces, friends & and cherished long-time caretaker & friend Mrs. Lenora Solich
