Maria's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Ortiz, born on April 1, 1964, who left us on March 22, 2024. A humorous, laid-back, and loving individual known for her warm smile and kind heart, Maria's memory will forever remain etched in our hearts.
Maria was a cherished mother to Moises Tamayo, who survives her and will indeed deeply miss her loving presence. She was predeceased by her beloved spouse, Manuel Ortiz, to whom she was happily married in 1995, and their son, Luis Vega. Maria was overjoyed to become a grandmother on August 3, 2016, a role she embraced with great joy and love.
In her earlier years, Maria enjoyed a fruitful career that concluded with her retirement in 2007. After officially leaving the workforce, Maria decided to move to El Paso, TX, in 2016, where she continued to spread laughter and joy with her laid-back and loving attitude.
Anyone who knew Maria knew of her love for BBQ Chips and Orange Soda. She found solace in the music of Marc Anthony, and enjoyed watching her favorite TV show, George Lopez. She relished in the joyous dance sequences of her favorite movie, Happy Feet, and had a soft spot for playing Mario 64. Miami remained her preferred vacation spot, where she enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and sunny beaches.
Maria's life was a testament to the maxim she held dear - 'Treat everyone with respect'. Her legacy of love, respect, and joy will live on through her son, her grandchild, and the countless lives she touched during her time with us.
Maria Ortiz led a life full of love and laughter, and she will be profoundly missed. As we mourn her departure, we also celebrate the life of a woman who made a positive impact on everyone she met. We take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved Manuel and Luis. Her light will continue to shine in our memories, bringing warmth and love, just as she did in life.
