Maria Castillo Gasaway, age 82 of Belton, died at her residence on January 31, 2018.

She was born in Riverside, California on September 3, 1935 to Catarina and Juanita (Saucedo) Castillo.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Penny Castillo.

Maria is survived by her four daughters Jennie Heitzman and Doris Stripling of Belton, Dorothy C Lowe and Nancy Dragoo of Temple, her two sons Norman Anthony Castillo of Temple and Salvador Cortez Castillo of San Jose, California, her brother Jesse Castillo of California and her sister Terry Clark of Tampa, Florida. She also leaves behind her 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) located at 3302 Airport Rd, Temple, Texas on February 11, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Hewett-Arney Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
